Cardio

I find that cardio is sometimes a necessary evil if I am to avoid turning into a fat blob.  With that in mind, here are a few of my thoughts and resources:

More interesting ways to do cardio – nobody likes doing cardio but this list of great options for more interesting alternatives to the treadmill should give you constant inspiration when you run out of ideas.

Using cardio for fat loss: dumbbell snatches and swings – in this personal post, I describe how when I was first setting out on the road to strength and fitness I tried various ways to gain muscle and lose fat and failed, and then discuss a dumbbell snatch and swing protocol that would hopefully change things.

Cardio strength workouts – using strength-based movements for cardio can have multiple benefits, including gaining extra muscle, avoiding losing muscle and improving posture, mobility and stability.

Using a rucksack for NEPA – sometimes you just need that extra 10% edge that takes you from where you are to where you want to be.  Walking for 20-30mins at the end of the day is something I find really easy to do and carrying a weighted rucksack is simple if you know how to set it up.
